"The preservation and the revival of what we now call Bronzeville, orginally
known as the old Black Belt, is imperative. Stabilizing Bronzeville will
set an example (for)...communities regardless of race, creed or color or any
status. We have a responsibility to the larger African-American community
to do that."
~ Professor Timuel Black

We aspire to a Bronzeville that is a diverse, vibrant, intergenerational, mixed-income
community that is locally owned and controlled and whose residents reflect the
community's historic African-American heritage and share values and sense of
history that allow the community to be sustained.

Is a coalition of community based institutions that believe more can be achieved

We understand that our community does not exist in a vacuum and some solutions
can be found by studying similiar situations in communities across the globe.

For a productive and vibrant Bronzeville community and feel the most effective
way to achieve such a community is through collective action on issues that
impact the area as a whole.
